Recruited as SME to move legacy TPAM product to newer OS for multimillion-dollar support extension. Transitioned into development and support of TPAM’s successors: Safeguard for Privileged Passwords (SPP) and Safeguard for Privileged Sessions (SPS). Moved into team responsible for deploying SPP and SPS in Microsoft Azure to accelerate availability of cloud-based “Safeguard on Demand” (SGOD) SaaS offering. • Developed numerous Azure DevOps pipelines: build various components of product, trigger static analysis of source code, package hotfixes, etc. • Redesigned numerous Perl services to run as Windows services on new OS. • Added enhancement to SPP and SPS allowing configuration and execution of single pre-configured program during RDP session. • Developed various supervisor application components invoked via controller-based REST API managing deployment of SGOD instance including SPP and SPS VMs and necessary cloud resources, modifying resources dynamically, and handling other management and support requests. • Developed and supported supervisor service code automating VM snapshots, tracking appliance availability, raising alerts on error conditions, and cleaning up expired deployments, ensuring a robust, maintainable, and cost-efficient SaaS product. • Migrated provisioning of resources (VMs, virtual networks, key vault, application gateway, storage account, public IP address, network security group) from deprecated Fluent API to Resource Manager API. • Implemented supervisor code to make web service calls to SPP and SPS to manage applications running on the virtual appliances. • Implemented PowerShell cmdlets to simplify making API requests to supervisor.
Implemented customer-specific enhancements using Java and proprietary XML state engine to control logic, buttons, text labels, audio, images, and other functions for retail self-checkout solution. • Developed Java code to make web service calls to authenticate shopper assistants logging in at self-checkout terminals. • Developed Java application to interface with external payment system to authorize credit card transactions at self-checkout kiosks.
Developed new features, and enhanced and supported existing functionality, on hardened Windows and Linux appliances for the award winning TPAM suite of products, providing privileged password management and privileged session management in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space. Utilized a variety of technologies/languages on TPAM appliances including Java, C#, Perl, C++, JavaScript, ASP, MS SQL Server, Cygwin, Bash scripts, shell scripts, Expect scripts, and more. • Developed and maintained a hardened Linux-based appliance providing a Java web service to allow applications to retrieve account passwords via client certificate authenticated SOAP over HTTPS web service calls. This web service could handle >5000 requests per second. • Designed and implemented a Java application to remotely monitor running programs during login sessions to Windows or *nix systems. This application was able to differentiate and monitor multiple login sessions to the same account on a system, multiple login sessions to different accounts on a system, and multiple login sessions to multiple systems. All executed programs would be logged, and if a user attempted to run a program that matched a preconfigured blacklist, then the program could be terminated immediately if configured to do so. • Improved HA capability of TPAM cluster by enhancing C# code replicating database backups to other cluster members. • Developed several C# applications to dump data such as certificate and certificate chain information and status information for jobs scheduled in Quartz.NET to assist in troubleshooting. • Developed and/or maintained numerous Perl applications that performed various tasks on TPAM appliances. Changes made to one of these applications resulted in >50% reduction in transfer time of bulk data between appliances. • Designed, coded, and maintained SSH based APIs in C++, .NET, Perl, and Java enabling customers to automate various aspects of interaction with TPAM.
