I’m a Non-US IMG, ECFMG Certified, NRMP Match Applicant for the year 2027. Completed USMLE Step 1 during house job and Step 2 in February 2026. Passionate about patient-centered care, continuous learning, and gaining diverse clinical experience while preparing for the US residency match. Have a strong interest in Internal Medicine. Motivated to grow through collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful contributions to healthcare!
During this experience, I had the chance to observe outpatient family medicine in a dynamic clinical setting, gaining exposure to preventive care, chronic disease management, acute patient visits, and patient-centered communication. I observed the evaluation and management of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and other common primary care concerns while learning the importance of continuity of care and evidence-based practice. I was granted access to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system during my clinical experience, where I quickly learned to navigate patient charts, document encounters, review labs/imaging, and coordinate patient care efficiently within the workflow. I also gained exposure to obesity medicine and diabetes management, developing an understanding of comprehensive lifestyle counseling, pharmacologic therapies, and long-term metabolic disease management, which are major areas of focus within the specialty.
During my house job at Services Hospital, I completed clinical rotations in Dermatology, ENT, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery, where I worked closely with multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This experience strengthened my clinical judgment, patient communication skills, and ability to manage patients in fast-paced hospital environments. In Internal Medicine, I was involved in the evaluation and management of patients with common acute and chronic conditions, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, documenting progress notes, and assisting in emergency management under supervision. During my General Surgery rotation, I gained exposure to pre-operative and post-operative patient care, wound management, emergency surgical cases, and minor procedures while participating actively in ward duties and operating theater activities. My Dermatology and ENT rotations provided valuable outpatient experience, where I assisted in assessing a wide range of dermatologic and otolaryngologic conditions, developed focused history-taking and examination skills, and observed procedural interventions and treatment planning.
