Prof. Adam Scales - Insurance Law
Assisted incarcerated Pennsylvanians with the commutation and PCRA process.
I manage the firm's traffic and appeals caseload, in addition of supporting our criminal paralegals with onboarding, case management, and collections. I also liaison with the firm's marketing team to make efficient use of MailChimp and drive customer feedback.
I began work at the Collaborative Divorce Center in July 2020, shortly after graduating from the University of Central Florida. Though I was initially hired in a part-time capacity, I became a full-time paralegal in November 2020. This position allowed me to gain valuable experience at drafting complex pleadings (often requiring research), the production and organization of discovery, and managing client expectations and emotions.
I was assigned to this internship through the UCF Legal Studies Department. I performed various paralegal tasks for the Assistant Public Defenders, such as reviewing evidence, preparing client files for trial, taking notes during initial interviews at the Orange County Jail and drafting complex pleadings under attorney supervision.
