• Gained valuable knowledge regarding the day-to-day operations of one of the most influential collections of modern painting and sculpture • Daily duties included giving lectures on works in the collection and on the life of Peggy Guggenheim, public walk-throughs of temporary exhibitions (including Jackson Pollock’s Mural), and private tours of the entire collection; other work included guarding, selling tickets, and cleaning outdoor sculptures • Vastly expanded my knowledge of the contemporary art scene through a summer-long immersion with the Venice Biennale and its collateral exhibitions around the city
• Primary responsibilities included paging, shelving and duplicate searching books • Assisted with cataloging books and outgoing Inter-Library Loan materials • Shadowed all members of MoMA's library team to get a comprehensive understanding of how one of the largest art reference library operates within a dynamic museum enviornment • Learned about all aspects of the MoMA's administrative and curatorial departments through weekly educational activities
• Assisted with the day-to-day operations of this new, collaboratively-run history museum on the Lower East Side • Worked closely with the PR and social media teams, reaching out to news organizations in an effort to publicize the museum and the many events that were held over the summer • Led conversations with local school groups about the neighborhood’s vibrant history • Produced a short advertisement video for the Direct Action Fashion Show that was shown nightly at the museum’s film festival • Represented the museum in meetings regarding the republishing of a history book
• Learned about all aspects behind the publishing of a local newspaper; Hometown Media produces five weekly newspapers for towns in the Westchester County area • Wrote two feature stories that appeared in print across all editions of the paper • Contributed to the reporting of stories for staff writers • Copy-edited nearly every story that was put in to print during my time spent at the organization
