Following 3 years studying History at Swansea University, I joined Lloyds Banking Group, eventually working in a number of operational roles. These roles ranged from assisting brokers and BDMs with mortgage applications, to mortgage collections and card fraud prevention. During the divestment of the TSB business, I volunteered for a secondment as a Test Analyst, helping test & prove mortgage systems ahead of the sale of the business. This period gave me an insight into Mortgage Software, and I joined Iress as a Graduate Business Analyst (BA) several months after the secondment concluded in 2013, with 4 years of mortgage experience behind me. Since joining Iress (now Finova), I transitioned from BA to Business Consultant (BC) and have collaborated with multiple Tier 1 & Tier 2 mortgage lenders in helping to implement the market leading Mortgage Sales & Originations (MSO) system. These projects have included: - Yorkshire Building Society Customer Experience Transformation - Leeds Building Society - Existing Business Transactions - Leeds Building Society - Core Servicing Replacement. During the above projects, I’ve played a key role as lead MSO BC, helping deliver a wide scope of mortgage solutions across three sales channels (Intermediary, Telephony & Digital) and Originations, including: - Residential Purchase & Remortgage - Buy To Let (including Portfolio Landlord) - Tailored mortgage product calculators to align with servicing systems - Risk Based Pricing - Joint Borrower Sole Proprietor - Existing customer transactions, including: o Rate Switch / Product Transfer o Mortgage Variations (Post Contract Variations) o Additional Borrowing o Transfer of Equity o Porting. Over the past decade, these projects have demanded the following skills: - Detailed understanding of all areas of the MSO system & end to end mortgage journey - Ability to organise, lead & deliver live demo’s, from 30-minute feature walkthroughs to full-day detailed workshops - Internal & external stakeholder management - Thorough understanding of client operational processes & lending policy, to assist with requirements elicitation (helping to define product changes & client configuration) - Risk & change management (including Impact Assessments) - Defect triage & prioritisation (as well as workaround management) - Expertise in specific, potentially complex topics, such as (but not limited to): o European Standardised Information Sheet (ESIS) o Product calculations (monthly payments, APRC, TAP etc.) o Mortgage product & Broker import o Integration adapters.
