Managing the 4th generation audio codec: xHE-AAC. Best-of-class stereo adaptive bit rate emission audio codec operating at bitrates from 12 to more than 320 kbit/s with built-in mandatory loudness and dynamic range control. For A/V or audio only streaming of music, audiobooks, podcasts, reels, long form content, etc.
The group "Audio and Speech Coding" operates at the intersection between traditional speech coding techniques, such as ACELP and related speech models, and the well-known and proven transform based audio coding schemes, such as AAC and the AAC family (HE-AAC, HE-AACv2). We strive to combine the best of both worlds and work on codecs suitable for any (audio) need at an incredibly large bit rate range.
The group "Audio Coding & Multimedia Software" is dedicated to improving audio quality and coding efficiency of a wide variety of low-bitrate and high-quality audio codecs. Main focus is the MPEG family of codecs, i.e. mp3, AAC, HE-AACv2.
