Worked on the Congressional campaign for a first-time candidate in suburban Dallas and the rural counties further south. She was the first Democrat in 35 years to make a serious bid for the seat. On top of earning a plethora of endorsements from organisations such as the DCCC and EMILY’s List, she won 45.5% of votes counted. This closed the margin to 8 points; down from 25 points in the corresponding election in 2014. Outline of Tasks/Role: Member of team which designed and managed data-driven field strategy. This included using the Democratic party voter database to target different cohorts of potentials voters with tailored communication via specific channels, i.e: canvassing, social media, mail etc. Helped to recruit, coordinate and train over 250 volunteers in canvassing techniques including the use of the Democratic parties canvassing mobile app. Also led and participated in canvasses throughout the district on a near daily basis. Project managed text messaging campaign focused on increasing voter turnout. This involved accurately identifying target audiences, crafting initial scripts and responses, and the subsequent recording of data gained from voter interactions. Led the distribution of yard signs to supporters. This involved pulling requests from multiple platforms into a centralized spreadsheet and then assigning volunteers to deliver the signs in an efficient and timely manner. Assisted on a number of other tasks including: policy research and fact checking, finance compliance and planning, and creating and publishing social media content.
