Sport and recreation have always been my passion, as I believe in the impact they have on individuals and the community. From fostering camaraderie among children to providing a sense of belonging for seniors, sporting clubs and activities are the glue that binds communities together. This sense of unity and shared purpose is what I want to contribute to and be a part of. Graduating in 2020 (Sport Management) my career aspirations were interrupted with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The immediate need to work led me to opportunities outside the Sport & Recreation industry. While this was unplanned, it proved to be invaluable. Working in diverse industries and with diverse communities has broadened my understanding of community needs and enhanced my adaptability, resilience, and communication skills. Despite stepping outside my chosen field, I have remained dedicated to keeping my sport management skills sharp through active volunteering. My involvement with initiatives such as Newroos, Parkrun, and the Australian Open Tennis has allowed me to apply and refine my event management and community engagement skills. These experiences have reinforced my passion for sport and strengthened my resolve to build a career in community sport/recreation.
