Building the fastest path to 1 GWh of deployed battery storage in Europe @ Copia Energy Helping businesses save, earn new revenues, and secure themselves against shocks Previously: - Co-founded (and now sit as a board director of) Flock Energy, a smart energy startup building an energy data-as-a-service platform that serves as digital infrastructure for the clean energy transition - ~9 years at Shell in energy transition roles across electricity policy and regulation, business development, procurement, and strategy. Fluent in English, German, and Italian.
Copia Energy is a new kind of battery company. We're on a mission to be the fastest to deploy 1 GWh of distributed BESS across Europe (equivalent to around 15,000 EVs ⚡️⚡️⚡️). The bottleneck in European battery deployment isn't the technology. It isn't the economics. It's execution speed. We built Copia to fix that. Our deployment model is designed to move faster than the industry currently thinks is possible, starting with the sites that keep the grid running, keep communities connected, and keep critical services online. We spent our first year stress-testing every assumption and building the integrations and partnerships required to deploy, deploy, deploy. Factory workshops across China. Commercial conversations with optimisers, aggregators, installers, utilities, and infrastructure investors across every major European market. Top-15 at Free Electrons 2025. Backed by Moonstone VC and a roster of industry angels. Active across Ireland, Austria, Italy, and the UK.
Co-Founder of Flock Energy, a mission-driven smart energy startup developing an energy data platform to underpin the energy transition. At Flock Energy, we aggregate fragmented energy data and transform it into actionable insights, making it easily accessible to anyone through our unique business model—zero cost for utilities and homeowners, and very low cost for broader energy ecosystem players. Our platform not only helps households cut their bills, it also reduces customer acquisition costs for low carbon technologies, lowering barriers and driving increased adoption. This empowers everyone to become more energy-independent and efficient and to contribute to the greening of the energy system.

I advised the international arms on how to improve their internal communications, interviewing, in 3 different languages, key stakeholders from across the business and researching corporate best practice. My recommendations were presented as a short presentation to the board and Q+A session, after which the senior management agreed to scope out the work required and institute the key solutions I had suggested.
