DTA responsibilities include carrying out estimation of bid work, ensuring technical acceptance of the disciplines work as well as mentoring junior grade engineers. In-country Lead Structural Engineer on both greenfield developments and brownfield modifications to platforms and infrastructure, projects include: Design of 4 ESP module additions to platforms in the BRRI field, each module weighing 250 tonnes. Engineering encompasses the design of the modules and their attachments as well as the structural integrity verification of the existing topsides and jackets. Expansion of the receiving Tie-in platforms with new switchgear and associated battery facilities in the form of deck extensions. Design of 3 new Slip-over jackets and 6 new topsides for oil wellhead platforms including the associated subsea hook-up to an existing tie-in platform within the Seffaniyah Field. Lead on the concept study of modification to 8 platform facilities (topsides and jackets) to accommodate the addition of ESP modules in both the Berri and Zuluf fields. Design of 4 new Slip-over jackets, oil wellhead platform topsides and the associated subsea hook-up to an existing tie-in platform within the Seffaniyah Field. Provide design engineering including scope development, detailed design, surveys, studies, calculations and code compliance reviews for two new 4-well PDM topsides and their associated brownfield tie-in and hook-up to their associated field tie-in platforms. Well hook-up and in-field installation at 34 platforms providing detailed design and drafting, surveys, studies, calculations and code compliance reviews, specifications, requisitions and material procurement support, construction scope of work development and IFC packages for the Offshore Maintain Potential hook-up and upgrade at SFNY, BRRI and ZULF fields. Pipelines Replacement and associated platform work (installation of risers & jacket / topsides riser supports) at BRRI Offshore Oil Field, covering 18 offshore platforms.
Providing the service of Chief Structural Engineer for RDS, the engineering consultancy branch of KCA Deutag. Delivering drilling rig design solutions in some of the world’s most challenging oilfields and locations, whether for a platform rig, a rig package for a mobile floating unit, or a specialist concept for unique conditions. Responsibilities include resourcing, competence reviews, graduate training, technical auditing and design reviews across all the projects and offices, located within the UK (Aberdeen and London) and internationally (Houston, Bergen and Baku). Development of design guides, standard design approaches for adoption across the company, in regards to structural engineering practices. In addition to corporate activities I have carried out the following work experience in parallel: Lead Structural Engineer to the Aberdeen Brownfield Office - Leading a team of engineers and designers supporting the integrity maintenance and modification of existing drilling packages for both fixed and floating facilities. Lead Structural Engineer to the BP Claire Ridge Project - Leading a team of engineers and designers in completing the BP Claire Ridge greenfield project, located in London. Completing the design of the Drilling Equipment Set Module (DES), circa 3500 tonnes in weight and the associated Drilling Support Module (DSM), circa 7000 tonnes.
