PhD chemist with an academic foundation in synthetic chemistry (organic, organometallic, and inorganic) and previous industrial experience (5 years) in the analytical characterization of small molecules and composite materials as NMR specialist. Currently seeking the next photoprotective ingredients for personal care applications, with a focus on efficacy, safety, and sustainability.
Main activities: - Analytical characterization of raw material and composite compounds, retro-engineering analyses, coordination of lab activities (TGA, DSC, PyGC, GC-MS, NMR, FTIR). - NMR spectroscopy specialist: measurements, maintenance, method development (e.g. qNMR, pure shift, 29Si SS NMR, Low Field NMR). - Research projects with internal and external partners, supervision of internship students.
Project goals: - Synthesis of water-soluble pyrazole ligands and gold(I)-complexes - Thermodynamic and kinetic studies via NMR spectroscopy (variable temperature measurements, DOSY, 1D/2D-EXSY) - Independent manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed publications
Thesis title: "Multifunctional Pyrazolate Ligands for Controlling d10-d10 Interactions of Oligonuclear Coinage Metals Complexes" Main activities: - Synthesis of organic molecules and organometallic complexes (including classical organic and organometallic synthesis from milligram to multi-gram scale; multi-step synthesis; catalyzed reactions; use of microwave techniques; work and manipulation under inert atmosphere in Schlenk line and Glovebox) - Purification and characterization of organic, organometallic, and inorganic compounds (NMR 1D/2D, IR, UV/Vis, mass spectrometry, GC, TLC, chromatographic purification, distillation, crystallization) - Studies of luminescence and electrochemical properties - Literature research - Record and presentation of data/results (seminars, posters, peer-reviewed papers) - Managing and training of undergraduate students
