Participation In FP7 project, Public Empowerment Policies (PEP). Topic: Assess how and what technologies can enhance human resilience in crisis situations, including public acceptance of technological devices.
Our research project concentrated on finding ways how specifically mobile technology could be utilized for enhancing public safety, security and also situational awareness. The concept that was created was CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System) with the possibility of user personalization related to the form and content of notifications and alerts. Main Activities: - Basic and background research (Master's thesis, Articles, Project documentation), - Project management and Requirements definition - Identification of partners (Potential users/service provides, Semantic solutions, Integration to data and information sources) - Seek funding for further research (public and private sector) Additional Activities: - Participation to a work group establishing the degree program for information and cyber security for IT faculty - Participation in research concerning the initial phase of potential safety and security cluster to be established in Central Finland
