  • Infrastructure Specialist at Cordaan
    Feb 2009 - Aug 2009 · 7 mos

Cordaan is a care organization with centers in Amsterdam, Diemen, Huizen, Maartensdijk and Haarlem. After the merge with Amsterdam Thuiszorg the IT environment needed to be consolidated to one integrated, user friendly and better maintainable IT infrastructure. On a technical level a second datacenter was obtained and connected to the primary datacenter. A new storage-, network- and (virtual)server infrastructure was implemented to facilitate datacenter failover to ensure high availability. I implemented the hardware, networking, Virtual (VMware vSphere 4) and storage infrastructure. Afterward a SAN based replication was used to migrate the data and virtual machines to the new infrastructure. Characteristics of the infrastructure are HP blades (G6), EVA storage system (with DR), Cisco 4500 (4 in a double redundant setup) and VMware vSphere 4. All connections between the DC’s is done over dark fiber.
