  • Mechanical Design Office Team Leader for Telecommunication Payloads at EADS Astrium
    Apr 2009 - Dec 2011 · 2 yrs 9 mos

Responsible for the design of payloads, mechanically speaking, my main tasks were the management of a team of 5-6 people working with me to make the integration task easier, logic and to also make sure that it will work. When all the equipments have been chosen by the project team, we, as mechanical engineer, are installing the equipments on the different floors and panels constituting the spacecraft communication module. These equipments can not be installed randomly in the payload because of their functional temperature range, electrical and vibration constraints. We then have to interconnect them with wave-guides or coaxial cables depending on the wave length. When the design and interconnection is done, the bill of material is build, and the team is performing the installation drawings for the integration team.
