My scientific career is rooted in organic chemistry, namely method development in enantioselective organocatalytic reactions. I developped a diastereo- and enantioselective organocatalytic reaction with transient electron-rich aldehyde-enols and additionally engaged in several interdisciplinary research projects during my PhD. After my PhD I started a Post-Doc in the pharmaceutical / medicinal chemistry; I collaborated in an international and interdisciplinary group for the discovery and synthesis of a SARS-COV-2 main protease and held the lecture in stereochemistry/nomenclature of organic compounds for pharmacy and biochemistry students. Having finished an interesting and yielding academic career, I shifted my focus to the pharmaceutical industry in a GMP certified environment. Ever since then, I made my way from purchasing manager to the head of purchasing. Procurement in a medium-sized API manufactureur is highly interdisciplinary, requires negotiation and communication skills within the company and across companies to make ends meet.
