FE-DESIGN's product is TOSCA, an optimization system based on numerical simulation. Leading an engineering team of locally 5 and globally 20 people. The engineering team is working in the field of numerical simulation and optimization, mainly in automotive (powertrain and chassis) and wind energy sector. Engineering plays a very important role for FE-DESIGN's software sales strategy, so besides project work we are focused on presales, training and customer specific consulting in simulation based development processes. Since 2007 involved in international reseller activities in U.S. and Brazil. Since 2011 deeply involved in FE-DESIGN's business activities in the U.S. to ramp up business and technical enablement in the american automotive industry.
The CAE area provides simulation services to the whole Freudenberg Group, working with highly nonlinear finite element models of rubber components (mainly for vibration damping and sealing), intensively with ABAQUS as finite element solver. I built up an optimization team (5 engineers) within the finite element group (15 engineers), focused on application of optimization methods on rubber components.
