I’m the founder of FOREST, a platform connecting the packaging ecosystem through structured industry data and intelligent discovery and Specright, the first cloud-based platform for Specification Management. Before founding Specright, I spent more than 25 years in the packaging industry, holding leadership roles at International Paper, Temple Inland, and rightPAQ — a packaging company I co-founded. I’m passionate about growing the Specification Management ecosystem through industry and academic partnerships. More than 2,000 students graduate each year from packaging programs like MSU, Cal Poly, RIT, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, and others with hands-on experience using Specright in the classroom. I’m also the author of The Evolution of Products and Packaging, which was named to Amazon’s Hot New Release list for Industrial Relations & Business. I’ve been involved in multiple M&A transactions in the packaging industry and serve on the Packaging Advisory Board at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Founded Specright after seeing firsthand how the lack of a standard way of sharing specification data between companies leads to inefficiencies and waste. Our mission is to help people and companies spend less time chasing data and more time making amazing, sustainable things. Specright is the leaading SaaS platform for Specification Data Management, helping Fortune 1000 companies and their suppliers take control of their data. Whether it’s raw materials, packaging, formulas, recipes, Bill of Materials, or products, Specright helps companies reduce costs and empower efficiencies by sharing, analyzing and auditing specifications. Specification Management is an exciting new category of software with an estimated $9B market. Our customers typically manage thousands to tens of thousands of product SKUs. Currently, most rely on PDFs, spreadsheets, emails, phone calls and less than user-friendly ERP / PLM systems to manage all aspects of their specification needs--from procurement to quality assurance. We believe that access to accurate specification data, plus the intelligence to make data-driven decisions is critical in today’s operating environment.
