Matthew H. Ward served over 15 years as an Army officer, and now works as a civilian for the U.S. Army in the research and threat analysis field. In 2020, he commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He is also a historian and journalist, who is the author of several published articles in online and print media. Ward holds a B.A. in History and Culture from Arizona State University (2007), an M.A. in History from Rutgers University-Camden (2018), an MPA from the University of Pennsylvania (2022), and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science (MMOAS) from the USAF's Air Command and Staff College at Air University (2026). Ward is a native of Matawan, New Jersey, who currently lives outside of Philadelphia, with his wife and two daughters. Ward is a freelance journalist and historian who is the author of "Boxing in Atlantic City" (with John DiSanto), "The Raritan Bayshore" (with John Allan Savolaine), and "Sports on the Jersey Shore."

    Served on active-duty orders to support numerous research efforts conducted by the Headquarters, U.S. Air Force Historian’s Office.
