I perform a variety of maintenance tasks and on-going projects to improve bar ambiance and attract more customers.
At TechNet, I work in the Structured Cabling department as a tech. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to: pulling cable, terminating connections at either end for mostly Cat6 and coax applications, dressing cable, installation of ladder racks and patch panels, some fiber optic experience but mostly copper. I’m badged with Cox Communications to work in LA, Orange and San Diego Counties. I also work with our CBSS - Cox Business Security Solutions department at times since they require a lot of conduit runs and I have years of experience running a variety of sized conduit and types- EMT/RIGID/PVC. I’ve worked on a variety of projects both ground-up installations and retrofits, a few of them with different school districts within the LA basin with responsibilities including: installing A/V equipment, uprgrading wireless access points and changing out switches/upgrading cabinets, etc.
As a Production Operator I was trained in oil and gas production processes on offshore platforms. My crew and I were responsible for maintaining constant production of oil/gas/water from multiple oil wells and made sure everything separated into its designated plants - Oil, Water and Gas - on the facility and that the quality of oil and gas met the requirements necessary to sell it to the pipeline company. Safety was key to our work environment and as such I became well versed in writing Job Safety Analysis for each task performed as well as implementing Safe Work /Hot Work and Confined Space Entry permits as required. Along with my production Operator duties, I was often asked to utilize my experience in electrical work to assist the onsite electricians. I also worked as part a maintenance task force that would travel to each facility and perform various maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: replacing corroded pipe spools, repairing or replacing a variety of sized centrifugal pumps as well as a variety of different sized valves that are placed throughout the production process. In this position I was also trained in using Programmable Logic Controls to monitor each facilities oil, gas and water plants and to make adjustments necessary to ensure a smooth production process that produced as much oil as possible for the company.
As a Safety Tech for Secorp Industries, I was responsible for maintaining scba’s, breathing air compressors, cascade systems for supplying Grade D breathing air to various manifolds located at each safe briefing area throughout oil and gas facilities both on and offshore. I was responsible for training individuals in H2S Safety and maintaining records of said training. I would also conduct safety meetings and call emergency drills. I was responsible for the inspection and inventory of various safety items put in place at each facility, including but not limited to: fire extinguishers, ring buoys, life rafts, fire hose reel stations, emergency generators, diesel powered fire pumps, emergency eyewash stations and so forth. I was responsible for all medical treatment necessary at any given time as an on-site medic. At times, I was responsible for dispatching transportation of workers both to and from the offshore facility, whether it was via crew boat or helicopter.
Electrical maintenance/repairs/remodels in both commercial and industrial environments as well as ground-up construction. I worked at an apprentice level for many years utilizing journeyman level skills to do a variety of electrical work.
