As a Health Science undergraduate student at the University of Florida, my unwavering determination lies in addressing the multifaceted health disparities that affect individuals lacking essential support. - As part of the Equal Access Clinic Network's Health Outreach and Quality Improvement Program (HOQI), I take on the role of overseeing the Internship and Fellowship program, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for undergraduate students using tools such as Instructure Canvas and Microsoft Teams. - As the Undergraduate Internship Coordinator, I act as the main point of contact for the participating students, fostering strong and supportive relationships with each individual. - I maintain regular contact with Directors and Coordinators to ensure clear expectations and ongoing support for the students throughout their internship and/or fellowship. Tracking and evaluating the students' progress is a core responsibility, allowing me to provide valuable feedback and mentorship to aid their professional development. - I document the outcomes of the internship, ensuring a comprehensive record of the students' accomplishments and contributions to the HOQI program.
- Worked directly with incoming patients, took vitals, performed data entry, and completed other crucial tasks at the clinic to deliver care at our primary care clinics. - Outside of clinic, I coordinated patient follow-up with prescriptions, test results, and referrals to specialty services.
