I'm an award-winning journalist, writer, and editor specializing in civil liberties issues and political philosophy.
I manage the editorial content of the ACLU with a focus on audience growth and attracting new contributors to our platforms by publishing well-argued op-ed style articles. The goal is to make the ACLU's website the go-to place for civil liberties- and civil rights-related news and analysis. Key Accomplishments: Page views to our editorial content hit approximately 14 million in 2018. Worked with Apple to establish an ACLU channel on the Apple News platform in 2017. In 2018, ACLU content on the Apple News platform received more than one million visits.
I manage the editorial content of the ACLU with a focus on growing the audience of our blogs and increasing the number of op-eds placed in external media outlets. My responsibilities include copy and content editing of blogs, press releases, and op-eds as well as writing original copy for op-eds, long-form essays, and social media platforms. I also instituted an editorial process to ensure we produce the most timely and interesting content as possible. Key Accomplishments: Since March 2014, I've helped to write, edit, and place approximately 300 op-eds in popular media outlets, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, USA Today, CNN.com, Salon, Slate, The Daily Beast, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Politico, and many others. Visits to ACLU blogs have increased by over 300 percent under my direction. And in the summer of 2016, I helped to research and write Donald Trump: A One Man Constitutional Crisis, one of the first long-form pieces to take Donald Trump's candidacy, and his threat to the Constitution, seriously.
