I'm currently a Software Engineer Specialising in SRE/Devops, making SaaS products that can be updated, tested, and deployed in a "GitOps" style. I work with AKS, helm, Gitlab, Datadog. Automation with Go/Python. I was the lead (formerly platform lead) of a cross functional team creating industry leading tools allowing CI/CD for hybrid cloud networking infrastructure. Most of my developing is on top of cloud services, primarily AWS and Azure. The majority of this involves using Terraform, Ansible, React and various Python and JavaScript libraries. Much of this experience is in the serverless framework, giving me opportunities to personally design and implement architecture for federated authentication, SecOps, and CICD pipelines. Previously my dissertation used natural language processing, studying the characteristics of successful grant proposals. I chose this topic due to a strong interest in programming, computational statistics, and machine learning gained studying Neuroscience and Biochemistry at university. I also developed my own Apps. My first major project was financial: a bot that found and executed arbitrage opportunities between sportsbooks (betting arbitrage). Then I went on to develop an app that managed orders and deliveries for a restaurant and finally this progressed to a serverless ETL pipeline for a fictional business with distributed data and compute resources.
