International financial services strategy, public policy, government affairs and sustainability leader with nearly 20 years’ experience across Asia Pacific. I enable banks, insurers, investors and market infrastructures to navigate complex regulatory, policy and market change and to turn it into practical, actionable outcomes. I have led APAC‑wide sustainability, regulatory and public policy functions for J.P. Morgan, ASIFMA and DTCC, and now co‑lead Flint Global’s Asia Pacific financial services practice from Hong Kong. My work spans prudential and conduct regulation, payments and digital infrastructure, data, cloud and privacy, sustainable finance and decarbonisation, and geopolitical risk. Recent experience includes establishing J.P. Morgan’s Corporate Sustainability function in APAC and acting as regional lead on ESG across 17 markets; rebuilding ASIFMA’s Policy and Regulatory Affairs team and making it a leading regional voice on sustainable finance and ESG for more than 150 global financial institutions; leading APAC strategy and business for DTCC’s Omgeo/ITP post‑trade business, serving 1,600 clients and generating US$30m in regional revenue; and building Flint Global’s Hong Kong presence and APAC advisory platform, managing multi‑market mandates and more than US$1.3m in recurring retainer revenue. I work closely with senior executives, policymakers, regulators, industry bodies and multilateral organisations, and have experience supporting board and C‑suite engagement on strategy, policy and sustainability issues.
I co‑lead Flint Global’s Asia Pacific financial services practice and lead the Hong Kong office, advising global banks, regional banks, insurers, payment and fintech firms, investors and market infrastructure providers on regulatory, policy, geopolitical and market issues across up to 14 markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore. I have grown Flint’s Hong Kong presence and regional advisory platform, recruiting senior advisers across insurance and key Asian markets and developing new offers in insurance, investor advisory, sustainability, climate transition and energy security. I manage a portfolio of recurring advisory mandates alongside additional project work and lead multi‑market account teams serving a mix of global and regional financial institutions, technology companies and data and infrastructure providers. My work covers government relations, stakeholder engagement and policy programmes across AI and technology governance, financial services regulation, digital infrastructure and payments, financial inclusion, sustainable finance, climate and energy security, and involves regular engagement with policymakers, regulators, industry bodies and multilateral organisations.
I contribute to the work of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong’s Business Policy Unit (BPU), Finance & Professional Services Committee and ESG Committee. Through the BPU, which acts as the Chamber’s policy think tank and advisory group, I help shape positions and submissions on business, regulatory and competitiveness issues affecting Hong Kong as an international financial centre. I bring a financial services, public policy and sustainability perspective into the Chamber’s engagement with government, regulators and other stakeholders, working with senior business leaders from across the Chamber’s sector and thematic committees on policy papers, consultations and advocacy related to financial services, professional services and ESG.
I established J.P. Morgan’s Corporate Sustainability function in Asia Pacific, aligning sustainability and ESG activity across 17 markets and supporting the firm’s US$2.5 trillion Sustainable Development and Green financing target. In this role I acted as the regional lead for sustainability and ESG, guiding market development, environmental and social risk considerations and regulatory engagement across corporate, investment and commercial banking businesses. I coordinated bankers and business lines on sustainability strategy, client engagement, internal capability building, corporate profile and thought leadership on climate, energy transition, ESG regulation and sustainable finance. I also served as a regional spokesperson on climate, energy transition, green industry policy, decarbonisation, sustainable finance, ESG regulation and carbon markets, engaging with clients, shareholders, NGOs, media, policymakers and regulators. Across the region I worked with business and control functions to align sustainability priorities with client, reputational, regulatory and policy considerations.
The Sunbeam Children’s Foundation provides licensed accommodation, education, healthcare, social support and career guidance to orphans and disadvantaged children, from infants to teenagers, in Guangdong, PRC, funding this work through donors in Hong Kong and elsewhere. As a Non‑Executive Director, I contributed to the strategic direction and oversight of the Foundation, with a focus on corporate governance, organisational performance and risk management. I worked with fellow board members and management to ensure the organisation remained robust and fit for purpose, and supported stakeholder engagement and advocacy to sustain funding and advance the Foundation’s mission.
After relocating to Hong Kong for this opportunity, I led ASIFMA’s Policy and Regulatory Affairs function, representing more than 150 global banks and financial institutions across Asia’s capital markets on regulatory, supervisory and policy issues including Basel III, Covid‑19 measures, cross‑border data, cloud and privacy regulation, and sustainable finance and ESG. I rebuilt the Policy and Regulatory Affairs team and established ASIFMA as a leading regional voice on sustainable finance and ESG, helping shape policy design and implementation across Asia Pacific and elevating industry advocacy to forums such as the G20, IOSCO and the Financial Stability Board. I led regional policy dialogue on regulatory fragmentation, data, cloud and privacy, and sustainable finance regulation, coordinating industry positions and engagement with central banks, securities regulators, finance ministries and international standard‑setters. During Covid‑19 I led financial services advocacy on Hong Kong and regional pandemic management measures, securing relief on travel and quarantine restrictions and representing the industry in sensitive government engagement. I built senior relationships with policymakers, regulators, member institutions and industry bodies across key Asian markets on complex financial services and sustainability issues.
