About

When I was 8 years old I told people I wanted to be a Professional Wrestler and of course, they laughed at me. At 15 I had my very first Professional Wrestling match in front of 1,000 people at a UK holiday resort as 'Britain's Youngest Professional Wrestler' and now at 30, I have 15 years worth of experience under my (championship) belt. I say this in view of the fact that it's people saying to me 'you can't do that' which has been the driving force behind everything that I have accomplished. Now I work with Change Grow Live, a nationwide charity that helps tens of thousands of people each day. My role as the Connecting Communities Lead allows me to holistically support adult service users to initiate recovery from drug and/or alcohol dependence; empowering them to build their own recovery capital and supporting them to move into long term sustained recovery and social (re) integration. It is my responsibility to co-ordinate the work and development of all 'Pathways to Recovery' through Peer Mentors, Volunteers and provide a point of liaison for Service Users and their feedback. I’m well-versed in building communication and rapport with 'hard to reach' individuals, planning & development, relationship management, operations, and coordination & scheduling. If you’re interested in collaborating in innovative ways to help those in need, talking shop (or to hear more about my career in tights), please send an email my way.

The role of Connecting Communities Lead requires me to promote visible recovery within all aspects of the service from point of entry to aftercare and encouraging carer, service user and community involvement throughout an individual's treatment journey. It's my responsibility to sustain and create support networks across the region by promoting different routes out of formal treatment and into community based mutual aid and/or community reintegration through adult education, volunteering opportunities, employment, social enterprises and community activities.
