Leadership of small team of policy and delivery specialists in the Net Zero Strategy directorate, responsible for: - Coordinating cross-government activity to secure multi-billion-pound funding for net zero in the 2020 and 2021 Spending Reviews - Establishing new governance structures for net zero strategy and delivery. Including setting-up the approach to deliver the Clean Energy Superpower Mission working with No.10 and Cabinet Office. - Advising ministers and other key decision-makers on the delivery of the UK’s net zero target. - Developing the ‘Embedding Net Zero’ chapter of the UK’s world leading Net Zero Strategy. - Acting as the key point of contact for the National Audit Office (NAO) to coordinate independent reports on the government’s progress against its net zero target.
Policy lead for the UK’s Brexit no-deal plans for the multi-billion-pound EU Research and Innovation programme, Horizon 2020, including: - Developing the government’s plan to support UK researchers in event of a no-deal, at speed, in a high-pressure, politically charged environment. - Leading project planning, governance and risk management processes for Horizon 2020, and collaborating with the centralised Brexit function at the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) and No.10. - Managing the multi-billion-pound business case for UK participation in Horizon 2020 following extensive stakeholder engagement across government delivery partners, universities and other government departments.

- Oversight of incoming funding and management of large scale payments for the company's largest client. - Responsible for analysing and reorganising processes; devised new procedures to manage incoming funding and client payments, resulting in a letter of commendation from a senior manager of large multi-national. - Streamlined internal processes resulting in the staff required being reduced from seven to two. Freeing up staff to work elsewhere and enabling company Directors to work on bringing on-board new clients.
