I lead our commodity merchandising team sourcing, selling, and distributing feed ingredients to livestock feed companies and direct to producers. Loyal Ingredients was started as a result of exceptional growth, exceeding $50 million per year in sales. I am responsible for hedging, risk management, logistics, ingredient procurement, and bottom-line performance. In addition, we write and distribute original content for market and ingredient segments we serve. We provide forward contracting and other risk management tools for our customers and their businesses.
Assisted in managing all aspects of a full-service country elevator - grain marketing, ingredient procurement and sales, logistics, and blended feed quality. I wrote the first SOP manufacturing documents for the facility and worked closely with our production teams to increase feed safety and quality. I filled in at our over-the-road trucking fleet, dispatching 20+ drivers to ensure timely delivery of feed ingredients to end users and further processors. Grew the wholesale distribution of feed ingredients to a level that warranted a company division - Loyal Ingredients LLC
Provided community-based, research-backed education to farmers and other populations based on needs assessments in the area. Education efforts focused on milk quality, transition cow management, housing and design. Collaborated the Marshfield UW research station to publish some of the first data on on-farm pasturization of waste milk
