Currently working as a PhD student on the “GIOCO” project, investigating play practices (among analog, digital, and hybrid modalities) in children’s and adolescents’ development. The research focuses on the relationship between play and different socio-emotional outcomes including, emotional sensitivity, attachment, empathy, alexithymia, psychosomatic symptoms, and peer relationships.
Internship focused on gaining first-hand experience in clinical psychology and psychosomatics. Activities included welcoming new patients and supporting them in the informed consent process, contributing to educational projects for teenagers and young adults, and participating in weekly supervision and intervision groups with a multidisciplinary team. I also took part in clinical laboratories based on recorded sessions to strengthen listening and relational skills, and collaborated on the Institute’s communication and social media projects.
Assisted the Marketing Manager in developing and implementing projects and campaigns in the dental healthcare field. Activities included creating mobile marketing campaigns, managing social media accounts to engage new customers, coordinating communication initiatives to raise awareness about oral health and diseases, and preparing reports on campaign trends.
Contributed to a research project promoted by the Federal Office of Public Health (Bern), focused on improving communication with socio-economically disadvantaged populations in Switzerland. Main tasks included conducting a literature review on health literacy and community-based interventions, interviewing experts and stakeholders, designing focus group materials, and developing a theoretical framework to guide practice based on thematic analysis.
Contributed to data collection for a large-scale epidemiological study on the health of older populations in Ticino (Italian Switzerland), conducting neuropsychological assessments through face-to-face interviews with older participants.
Contributed to postdoctoral researcher Marta Fadda’s project on the impact of COVID-19 public health response measures on parenting, with a focus on autonomy and the public good. Main activities included conducting a scoping review on the effects of the lockdown on parents of children and adolescents, which led to the publication of the article “Joys or Sorrows of Parenting During the COVID-19 Lockdown: A Scoping Review” in Public Health Reviews (2023).
