Recruited to lead CL&A's fast growth and intended acquisitions, I soon discovered the company's actual situation dictated an immediate and large-scale financial turnaround, across its six subsidiaries and 9500 staff in Thailand, France, the USA and Australia. Spent the following 2 years redefining sales strategies, restructuring debts with all parties, closing all non profitable entities, re-engineering production processes, re-negotiating terms with labor unions, switching 30% of the production to sub-contractors, retrenching half of the workforce. Over the period, sales increased 25%, manufacturing productivity improved 18%, operating costs decreased 60% hence improving financial ratios across the board.
Promoted through the ranks to head a fast growing and logistically challenging territory with 10 branches, 800 staff across Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam, More than doubled revenues and tripled EBIT within 8 years. Built a strong team able to cope with ambitious growth strategies, driven by product and market diversification, and a keen focus on cost optimisation and employee engagement.
