I consider myself a motivated manager with an eye for detail and performance, with a passionate interest in geoscience. Throughout my carrier, my prime focus has been aimed at both tendering and execution of civil marine engineering projects. Additionally, since 2020, I obtained the opportunity of becoming a team leader for the juniors of the team. My personal core values are: Determination, Accuracy and Optimism.
As a Geologist Manager at the DEME group I'm the right hand of our team leader. In his absence I'm responsible for the co-ordination of the team. In his presence I focus on the operational part of our work. This includes follow-up of junior colleagues when they attend site investigations abroad.
As an engineering geologist at the DEME group I was responsible for the setup of geological, geotechnical and environmental soil models including processing the soil-technical information necessary for the production calculations of the dredging, piling, trenching equipment, both in tender phase (Belgium) and in execution (world wide). Abroad daily tasks include organizing and witnessing of a wide range of site investigations with the following techniques: -Boreholes with SPT's -CPT(U)'s -Vibrocores -Piston samplers -Van Veen grab samplers -Beeker samplers -geotechnical laboratory tests -Seismic reflection surveys -Seismic refraction surveys -Side scan sonar surveys other tasks included: -Accurate, on the job reporting -Advising on geotechnical and geophysical soil investigation methods. -Soil volume estimations -desktop studies -Cost estimations for soil investigations -Planning of soil investigations
As a student geologist at the DEME group I supported more senior colleagues with the following: -digitizing and processing of geotechnical data -building of soil models -desktop studies
As a student geologist at Ecorem I was responsible for: -Sampling and analysing soil and water -Construction of boreholes (Edelman and Auger bore) -Installation of monitoring wells with concrete and bentonite seals -Borehole descriptions (logging)
