I am a biomedical scientist, passionate about innovation and new business development. I firmly believe that science and innovation pave the way for new product possibilities and market opportunities. I have years of experience prospecting new commercial and business partners and developing commercial strategies for product co-development and go-to-market, managing complex innovation projects and evaluating new proposals and business models from a commercial, technical and regulatory perspective. For two years I worked developing the commercial strategy of a biotechnology startup, aiming at the co-development of new medical devices with potential partners, analyzing market opportunities, business models and evaluating possibilities for new products for the company's roadmap, pivoting opportunities in different niches for the technology under development. Currently I work in a pharmaceutical company as a senior business development analyst, managing innovation projects, evaluating new product proposals and developing business with potential commercial partners. Before starting my career in business, I worked for seven years in basic research on experimental pharmacology projects, where I completed my master's and doctoral degrees. This previous work allowed me to build a solid foundation of technical and scientific knowledge to better understand the business world in the healthcare sector and the technical value that each innovation can offer.
• Development of the company's commercial and business area. Developing institutional and commercial partnerships for the co-development of new products. • Conducting market studies to understand how animal-free innovation can have technical-scientific value and commercial viability in the areas of biomedical research, injectable cosmetic development, applied pharmaceutical research, and for the development of medical devices for tissue regeneration. • Developing sales funnels and business models for each area the company plans to pivot in. • Active prospecting of business partners and potential clients in different business models, conducting business meetings, product presentations, and negotiating new sales and contracts. • Principal investigator for a PIPE-FAPESP project in the area of tissue regeneration in dentistry. Managing the project and ensuring delivery with satisfactory technical and commercial results.
Business development for the company, acting as a product specialist with prospects, mapping leads and business opportunities, understanding market pain points, and conducting product presentation meetings and subsequent negotiation and sales closing steps.
Project management of experimental research, evaluating the project's critical path and investigating possibilities for cost reduction, time optimization, and strategic planning. Additionally, I worked with deadlines and goals established for each stage of the project. Soft skills developed: project management, defining KPIs such as goals and deadlines, communication, public speaking, proactivity, resilience, persuasion, and cost planning, as well as technical and scientific writing.
Acting in pharmacological research, comparing the effect of a phytotherapic alternative to the use of antihypertensive drugs already known on the market such as enalapril, analyzing arterial hypertension, diabetes and other cardiovascular, metabolic and hepatic changes. Results obtained: • Scientific article published in the journal where the preventive effect of açaí extract was compared to the drug enalapril in a mice model of hepatic steatosis in obesity. • Presentation of studies at scientific conferences with a 3rd place award as the best work at a local pharmacology conference (RioPharma 2017)
Scientific Initiation Scholar, working in pharmacological research, investigating cardiometabolic alterations associated with obesity induced by a high fat diet, where a comparative study was developed between the use of the drugs Enalapril and Telmisartan with the açaí extract, a herbal alternative to prevent comorbidities associated with obesity.
Scientific initiation internship without scholarship at the Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Medicinal Plants Laboratory, at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Working with comparative studies between antihypertensive drugs already established on the market, such as enalapril and telmisartan and herbal alternatives, in an animal model of obesity induced by hyperlipidic and hypercaloric diet.
