Starting from my PhD years, I've always been lucky enough to work in very dynamic, challenging and quickly changing environments. Thanks to that, I've developed my particular set of skills, that includes: - Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem solving capabilities. - Fast learner, curious and passionate. - Excellent communicator and trainer (complex stuff made easy). - Capability to work under pressure and meet dead lines in a result driven, priority changing environment. Some of the things I've done: - Numerical modeling of complex TLC systems. - Referent for international projects on TLC. - Definition and modeling of Quality Assurance processes, both for hardware and software. - Definition and implementation of automated test frameworks. - Coordination of teams geographically distributed. I've also developed knowledge of techniques and methodologies for software testing (ISTQB certified). Specialties: Testing, Software Testing, Quality Assurance, Optical Fibre, Optical Media, Networking, WiFi, Access Devices.
As a Test Engineer, I've developed 2 frameworks for test automation, one dedicated to a specific product (Datacast), while the other one involving all the E2E monitoring chain, from the probe up to the presentation layer (G10 probe / Datacast / IPI). Both tools allowed to: - repeat tests in a consistent way over time, helping to identify regressions, and - kick-start the test right after the SW build is ready in a fully automated fashion, saving execution time. As a result: increase in product quality, reduction of test execution time and increase in test coverage. Among the different activities I worked on: - Software Tester for Mobile network monitoring probes. Focus of the activity was for UTRAN related protocols. - Software Tester for data-processing middleware applications. - Software Tester for data monitoring applications (data pre-processing, data aggregation, data storage and web-based presentation layer). - Focal Point role for the testing of innovative products. - On site support (at customer premises) during product acceptance phase. - End2End test leader, coordinating the activities of different teams based in different sites (Italy, Ireland, China). - Trainer, both one-to-one and to groups, concerning company products and testing methodologies.
Among the different activities I worked on: - partecipation at the EC Funded Project "ALPHA: Architectures for fLexible Photonic Home and Access networks" Project; the main fopcus of the activity is the integration of Plastic Optical Fibre transceivers in residential gateways and the implementation of UPnP QoS functionalities. - Testing and validation of residential gateways, with focus on content sharing functionalities. - Testing, validation and Quality Assurance for WiFi devices, focusing on IEEE 802.11n standard. - Testing, validation and Quality Assurance for multimedia devices (STB for IPTV applications, Home Media Players). - Tech support to the customers. - Support in partecipation to exhibitions and market fairs.
I worked as a consultant for the European funded project "Nobel 2". My work was mainly devoted to TLC system simulations and experimental with the final goal of Optical PMD compensation
