After 3 years in Sales I have more than 20 years experience in Purchasing within the industrial sector. Working for multinational groups with large matrix organizations, I had experience as Purchasing Manager, Commodity Manager and Global Procurement.
Commodity Manager’s main responsibilities: definition of the purchasing’s strategies working close with stakeholders, supplier’s selection, commercial negotiation and supplier’s engagement and long-term relationship building. Global Procurement Manager’s main responsibilities: managing the supply chain cross functional projects among the company’s plants (Europe & Asia) for facilitating the changes, improving the relations and projects execution within a large global organization.
I’m in charge of managing all the commodities related to heat exchange with water. I deal with all the suppliers of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers (Buy) and all the mechanical components for the Shell and Tubes we produce in our own factory (Make). I’m also in charge of Pumps, Hydronic Sets and Vibration technologies. In addition to this, I also manage the purchase of Non-Ferrous raw materials. For each commodity I define the best purchase strategies in line with the specifications, quality, service and target cost agreed with the Management. After an international scouting process, I choose the best suppliers that match the strategies defined and for each supplier I negotiate all the conditions and terms and then I issue a global purchasing agreement. I continuously take care of the long term relationship with the key suppliers. If the supplier is a global player with plants worldwide I make a global agreement for all the Climaveneta Plants (Chinese and Indian too). Moreover, I’m the purchasing department reference for the NPI projects in the “Scroll Compressor Platform”. For each new product we have a NPI cross-functional team and their goal is to achieve from the concept design all the targets agreed with the Marketing Department and the Management, such as performance and reliability results, target costs.
