My passion for life is to help others. 15 years ago, I never considered how much massage therapy impacted the rate of recovery...that is until I received one per week after my own personal traumatic injury. Since then, I attained the ability to develop organizational and hands-on skills to “pay it forward” to others in physical and spiritual needs of health. I specialize in Maternity, Deep Tissue, Orthopedic, Silicone Cupping, Himalayan Salt Stone, and Sports Massages. My current passion is developing my skills and education for Oncology Massage (Massaging People Living with Cancer).
14 years ago, as I received my license to practice in the mail, I envisioned a Massage Therapist position like this. I knew it would be similar to a marathon. This occupation would take time to achieve, more patience, more empathy, more education, and more experience. A position that includes massaging people recovering from surgical procedures and others that range from beginning their fitness journey to those at their peak performance. A position that also includes massaging individuals with Cancer, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s that all have one thing in common. Movement is medicine. My goal is simple: deliver beyond the client’s expectations and develop trust for them to see massage as a necessity, rather than a luxury. I’ve committed myself to the lifelong journey of learning so they can continue receiving massage through any phase of their life, regardless of the condition or disease they live with daily. Along with providing a clean and positive environment they can feel at home. My specialties include Trigger Point therapy, Deep Tissue, Scar Tissue Release, Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Drainage, Stretching and Relaxation massage.
Employed as a contractor with emphasis on Petrissage, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point therapies. I am incredibly fascinated with the human body and how it works. The clients in a chiropractic setting are more direct as to what they want worked on (their "symptom"). I thrive on making my clients more aware of their movements in daily lives that may actually be one of the triggers to the "cause" I locate and treat.
This 3-module 1 year program has opened my eyes to a turning point. The course curriculum covers a multitude of modalities and techniques. I've officially reached certification status as of 07/08/10 and licensure status as of 11/10/10.
