Hello! My name is Masha Morozov, and I am a first-generation American. My cultural background has given me the opportunity to know several languages at a native fluency level, which has helped me gain pedagogical and linguistic skills to more easily learn other languages, such as French and Spanish. I graduated from Binghamton University with a BSc in Integrative Neuroscience, a BA in Russian Studies, and a Minor in Global Studies. Throughout my four years of undergraduate study, I learned many organizational and time management skills in order to successfully complete my degrees, as well as be a part of many different organizations and showcase my leadership skills by holding different executive board positions in these organizations. Along with these skills, I also gained experience in research and health-related fields, including writing experimental laboratory papers, creating research posters, writing literature reviews, and working with human blood, D. melanogaster, mice, and rats in laboratory settings. In the health-related field, I have accumulated 100+ hours of shadowing experience in different medical concentrations, such as obstetrics & gynecology, primary care medicine, dentistry, and nephrology. I am a Master of Public Health graduate from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, with a double concentration in Epidemiology and Global Health. I have since gained 9+ years of research experience and expertise in infectious diseases and neuroscience, as well as in public health methodology and epidemiology. I also have 4 years of teaching experience across different age ranges, 4+ years of community engagement experience, and several years of consulting experience. Above all, I am passionate about health equity, human rights advocacy, epidemiology, and using social determinants of health and a racial equity lens to improve access to care.
The Program for Intelligent Image-Guided Interventions (PI3) is a grant funded program with leaders from Colorectal Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Population Health pioneering a new way for delivery of care – bringing the future of care now. I support physician leaders, administrators, internal and external stakeholders and WCM research collaborators. Together, we will advance innovative work flows, support research compliance, and implement data-driven process improvements. As the Program Manager, I am responsible for co-leading the clinical and research arm of the program. Under the supervision of the administrative manager, I serve as primary liaison for regulatory needs and submissions while coordinating referred patients to follow our innovative pathway from conference discussions to novel therapy/treatments they will require.
NextGen engages and empowers young adults (18-25) to become active community leaders to end the HIV epidemic through facilitating public health programming within their communities. Through NextGen, the participants gain the skill set to effectively communicate HIV burden within their respective communities by utilizing data-to-care epidemiological models and optimal community engagement. Through training received during the program from staff and previous NextGen participants (Champions), the fellows organize culturally responsive and tailored activities for HIV Community Projects and Health Education Campaigns. Champions will be responsible for teaching curriculum topics and engaging youth through interactive and innovative activities. Champions will have a maximum of five (5) fellows/participants. In addition, champions will guide and provide support for scholars during the planning phase of their HIV Community Project and Health Education Campaign.
NMAC’s Youth Initiative (YI) is a program sponsored by ViiV Healthcare. The program aims to assist young leaders in the fight to end the HIV epidemic in becoming more effective and informed health advocates; it is our goal to empower them to become more active in their communities. Each year the program selects 30 qualified youths ages 18-25, both living with HIV and HIV negative allies, to build their capacity to partner with a local community agency. This partnership provides education for youth to influence HIV prevention and service delivery in their communities. Youth Scholars will take part in various events through their tenure including webinars and conferences to help further develop their skills and knowledge to prepare them to lead the efforts to end the HIV epidemic in their communities and across the country. Training Overview Youth Scholars will have the opportunity to participate in trainings (in-person) at the United States Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA) and post conference professional development webinars. In-person trainings will be conducted at USCHA (travel, lodging and stipend will be covered by YI). Virtual and in-person trainings are to prepare scholars to plan and facilitate their own HIV Community Project and Awareness Day Project. Youth Initiative scholars will be given key tools, financial assistance and skills needed to partner with local HIV organizations to facilitate projects. Projects will be based on the youth scholars’ interests in HIV care and/or prevention. Training will include, but not be limited to: -Stigma and HIV -Health Literacy & Communication -Public Health Program Planning -Biomedical Prevention Strategies -HIV Epidemiology -Professional Development Speakers -Job Readiness/ Resume workshops
The U.S. Fulbright ETA award fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and those of other countries. ETAs provide a native speaker presence in schools, thus improving foreign students’ English language abilities. Additionally, ETAs serve as cultural ambassadors, sharing knowledge of the United States while enhancing the U.S. student’s own language skills and knowledge of the host country. The award facilitates not only English language learning, but also cross-cultural exchange.
