About

I am currently Regional Director at Waterman Group based in the Birmingham Structures Team, leading the Team, alongside maintaining the lead engineer and project manager role in delivering an array of multi-million-pound new, and refurbishment, projects from conception, though detailed design to construction and delivery, following both Eurocodes and British Standards. Using my structural knowledge, alongside my passion for preserving and enhancing the environment, I aspire to assist in the delivery of innovative construction projects that are resilient and future-proofed to the forthcoming climatic, economic and social changes that lie ahead.

  • MEng Research Project at University of Birmingham
    Oct 2009 - May 2010 · 8 mos

My final year research project, “Managing the effects of Climate Change in the West Midlands", analysed the West Midlands Region’s adaptive capacity to the growing climatic threat of extreme weather events. It concluded that climate change was a natural phenomenon but also that recent trends have been exacerbated by the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. In addition to this, the diverse range of climatic threats suggested a regional approach was insufficient to cover the variety of vulnerabilities, whilst a local approach has limited transboundary integration. I am passionate to try to portray the message that the effects of climate change are unavoidable and that we must act now to increase our adaptive capacity to change.
