I lead engineering organizations through scale, transformation, and platform reinvention. Increasingly, my work centers on agentic engineering and practical AI adoption: helping teams use AI to improve throughput, quality, and day-to-day execution, not just experimentation. I am especially interested in building the systems, workflows, and operating models that make AI useful in real software delivery environments.

Key responsibilities: - hiring, managing & retaining the company's R&D team (40 engineers), consisting of both local and remote engineers, permanent and contract - delivering frequent, high-quality product increments - transitioning the R&D team from developing a self-hosted application to running a SaaS platform - optimising the R&D teams for optimal autonomy, productivity and flow
During my tenure at XebiaLabs, I was responsible for the engineering department, software development and technical support. Key achievements: - grew the development team from 5 to 50 engineers - successfully integrated off-shore developers - outsourced plugin development and support to remote team - scaled the company's software development process and teams - started and grew the technical support team to handle 1st and 2nd line support, including 24/7 standby. The support team consistently reports a 97% plus customer satisfaction rating.
Involved as Scrummaster in several multi-team, offshore Scrum projects for large clients in The Netherlands. Most recently worked as Scrummaster and technical lead to implement a national travel information display system at a Dutch railway company. Key accomplishments: • Scaled team from 4 local people to 25 distributed over the Netherlands and India. • Acted as Scrummaster for one implementation team (8 people). • Coordinated efforts between developers in the Netherlands and India. • Point of contact between client and development team. • Designed and developed parts of the system, both backend as well as frontend functionality.
