I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (FRICS) and accredited Quantum Expert Witness (MAE) with over 30 years’ experience advising on complex construction, engineering, and energy matters internationally. Solicitors and counsel regularly instruct me as a Quantum Expert to provide independent expert opinions, expert reports, joint statements, and testimony in formal dispute resolution forums, including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, dispute boards, and mediation. My approach is methodical, independent, and tribunal-aware. I am known for helping parties cut through complexity, test assumptions, and present clear, robust, and defensible quantum positions grounded firmly in contemporaneous records and accepted methodologies. Alongside my expert witness work, I have held senior commercial leadership roles, including Commercial Director-level responsibility, on major, mega, and giga projects across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. This experience informs my practical, commercially grounded approach to quantum and dispute analysis. Recognising that Prevention is better than Cure, I am frequently engaged early to work with contractors, employers and solicitors on live projects and in high-value claims and disputes, supporting the analysis, preparation and presentation of quantum. This work includes early identification, testing, and resolution of quantum issues at the pre-dispute and early dispute stages, helping parties avoid weak or unsustainable positions and reduce the risk of later formal proceedings. Through realistic, evidence-led quantum analysis, I help shape commercial and claims positions that encourage early resolution where possible and, if matters proceed, are robust and capable of withstanding later scrutiny. I am equally experienced in assisting employers and respondents in testing, challenging, and dismantling quantum claims that are poorly substantiated, methodologically unsound, or unsupported by contemporaneous evidence. My experience spans major infrastructure, energy, utilities, process, and building projects across the UK, the Middle East, and international markets.
