    This project role was to work with the RTO8 Board, Advisory Committee and HR Committee of the Board during a period of significant change and Board transition and then recruit, select and hire a new Executive Director (ED). RTO8 is the Regional Tourism Organization 8. RTO8 covers The City of Kawartha Lakes; Peterborough & The Kawarthas; and Northumberland County and is branded as Kawarthas Northumberland. This project has been completed.

    This volunteer role is to provide leadership and to coordinate all activities of the chapter, and to be its principal liaison with the HRPA and other chapters. As President, I presided at all members meetings and all meetings of the Board, and conduct these in good order,and was an exofficio member of all committees of the chapter. The chapter partnered with the Quinte West Chapter to run the annual Employment Law Conference in Cobourg. We offered seminars and workshops for our members and local business community. We supported local business achievement awards with two Chambers of Commerce, participated on CERP Northumberland, supported United Way and provided 4 scholarships to local high schools' students interested in HR Management. We were also involved in local labour market studies. For the next two years I remained a member of the chapter Executive as the Past-President and continued my involvement with CERP and other community initiatives. Re-certified CHRL through May 31 2018 and resigned my membership on May 31 2018. As of that date no longer a CHRL. The chapter executive decided to put a vote to the chapter membership in 2016 to dissolve the chapter and have the membership join the Quinte West Chapter. The chapter no longer exists.

    I facilitated 2 training sessions on OH&S for participants from Limpact, Weetabix, Dart Cup and CPS Wood Products in Fleming's PEAK program in Sept 2013. I have previously led supervisor training sessions on Employment Law (covering an overview of all legislation applicable in Ontario); How to Effectively Chair an Effective Meeting; New Employee Orientation, Engagement, Listening, Performance Management & Performance Management & Terminations. I have also facilitated workshops on Building and Presenting an Effective Business Case and Succession Planning for the Northumberland Chapter of HRPA. I taught ``Human Resources Management`` (the CHRP accreditation course at Fleming in the fall of 2011. I reduced my teaching in 2012 due to the Cam Tran employment contract and it's BC plant travel demands.
