In my role as Chair of the Advisory Board at TEDxTrafford, I drive strategic initiatives that aligned with the core values of TEDx. I focused on growth, governance, and partnerships, while also enhancing marketing efforts and ensuring financial sustainability. My leadership contributed to the organization's mission of fostering innovative ideas within the community.
I lead on the engagement of students and centres in my local area. This includes creating long-term relationships with local CIPD education providers, schools, colleges, and universities to champion and promote HR as a profession and compelling career. I develop and foster relationships with Academics and students to promote CIPD membership and encourage membership progression, as well as encouraging engagement in local branch events and volunteering opportunities. I lead the development of an annual EDI action plan, with clear objectives, KPIs, and timelines. Define priorities based on regional need including better inclusion in employee wellbeing and mental health , hybrid work or greater neurodiversity representation. I recruit, onboard, and guide EDI ambassadors and committee members. Whilst ensuring the team aligns around shared goals and measurable outputs I contribute to the design and delivery of engaging EDI calendar: forums, webinars, awareness days & community roundtables. I Partner with local leaders to bring real-world, experience-based insight to topics like race, gender, mental health ,neurodiversity, and workplace flexibility . I collaborate with local EDI networks and partners and gather data via workshops, surveys, and member feedback whilst evaluating what actions are working, share insights with HR professionals, and adjust strategy accordingly I ensure diverse representation across speakers, and host learning sessions with inclusive culture leaders whilst empowering leaders and practitioners to embed psychological safety, collaborative working, and equity in their day‑to‑day practices
TedxTrafford Curator and licensee, scheduled for 29th November 2025 I am responsible for leading and delivering the TEDx event in alignment with TED’s mission of spreading powerful ideas. My key responsibilities include: Setting the vision and theme for TEDx Trafford, Selecting and coaching speakers to ensure talks are TED-worthy, Securing a venue, sponsors, and partners, building and managing a team of volunteers and collaborators. I oversee event logistics, branding, and compliance with TEDx guidelines. I create a platform for diverse, thought-provoking voices that reflect Trafford’s community. I am the creative and strategic lead ensuring TEDx Trafford is impactful, inclusive, and aligned with TED’s global standards. As TEDxTrafford Lead Speaker Coach I support and oversee all TEDxTrafford speakers to develop powerful, clear and impactful talks that align with TED’s standards. This includes guiding speakers to refine their core idea, structure their talk, strengthen storytelling, improve delivery and stage presence, and communicate with confidence and authenticity.
