My day to day assignment is account entry and issuing invoices, keeping records of working hours of employees, issuance of travel orders, contracting insurance policies, employee registration and deregistration in health insurance, preparation for Balance Sheet and P&L Statement and all of the assignments a Payroll Specialist does such as payroll calculation, monitoring of working hours, vacations and sick days, calculation of taxes, surtaxes and contributions and lastly - communication with Tax Administration and Health and Pension Funds. This tasks are performed using different tools from Microsoft Office and C - PIS Accountant an Payroll Software. As Head of EU funds withdrawal my assignment is to find a project that matches companies features through European Commission portal and to collect a series of documents that are required, also I have to conduct the whole process, be aware of submission deadlines and communicating with Control Committee after the project is done and equipment (in our case ship equipment) is installed. For most of my professional career, I have been an accountant and that is a field where my knowledge is strongest. In past couple of years, there was a professional demand in my current company for a person that is willing to learn new expertise in another scope, so I took the chance and learned how to conduct and to administrate complex documentation related to funds that finance projects in developing countries within European Union. I believe that a professional learns throughout his entire career, so I am always willing to learn new business niches, whether that niche is something familiar or something completely different from my comfort zone. Currently, I am searching for a remote job that has flexible working hours and fair compensation. My location is Croatia and that is CET time zone, but I can easily adapt to any desired time zone, as well as I can adapt to any company structure.
My job as an accountant is mostly based on bookkeeping, financial reporting and also Tax preparation and planning. Besides from being an accountant, my job is also to conduct and administrate projects funded by EU funds for development.
