London, England, United Kingdom
As CEO of AOPA UK, I champion the interests of General Aviation and ensure the sector’s value is understood at the highest levels of government and regulation. I advocate for fair, evidence-based policy, protected access to airspace and infrastructure, and a sustainable future for UK GA as a national asset. With over 25 years’ experience across aviation, governance and strategic leadership, I work to shift outdated perceptions and promote a modern, inclusive and innovative GA ecosystem. My focus is simple: strengthen safety, empower pilots and organisations, and secure the long-term future of General Aviation in the UK.
Working on issues that affect the General Aviation community - Europe seeks to harmonise the rules for GA and increase safety. Part of what I do is to make sure that our members have a voice in the debates but also to challenge proposals so that any new rule is proportionate to the activity. We all want safety but NOT at any price as that is simply not affordable.Better education and safety information / promotion must be at the heart of improving GA safety as rules alone can not deliver.
