Head of Filtration and Chromatography Consumables (Product Development Separation Technologies)

Greater Kassel Area

About

Currently, I am heading a department in the field of product development for the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on Filtration and Chromatography Consumables. More specifically, my team driving the development, testing and transfer to manufacturing of reusable and disposable products in the fields of process development, as well as the large-scale manufacturing processes thereof. Furthermore, we contribute to the evaluation of new, innovative and intensified solutions that are closely linked to our customers' requirements. I have over 15 years of experience in the product development of consumables and systems in separation technologies. My main focus is on the field of downstream processing (DSP), including filtration technologies, chromatography, cell separation and other technologies. In close contact with external and internal customers and scientific institutions, I work on several projects and teams across sites, leading to the introduction of new products to the market. In my former roles as a scientist, project manager, and team leader, I dealt with new innovative products from sketch to manufacturing, including topics such as testing, industrialization, quality assessment, and intellectual property. This includes a focus on applications in DSP and testing thereof. I am involved as an inventor in over 25 patent applications within bioprocess technologies for consumables, processes, and systems. My background is in bioprocess engineering (University of Halle, Germany), and I hold a PhD in natural science from the University of Hannover, Germany.
