Martin Jakubowski is one of the pioneers in the renewable energy industry having set up unit energy europe AG in Germany in 1995 out of which a number of pathbreaking companies have been set up in various countries in the EU, such as WRE Hellas with its wind farms in Greece, the Vila do Bispo I & II wind farms in Portugal, the hydro-power plant Ancinale in Southern Italy, the Tri Chalupky hydro power plant on the Elbe river, the wind farm Lastours in Southern France, the clean energy distribution companies unit energy Stromvertrieb in Germany and Good Energy Plc in the UK. In 2002 Martin Jakubowski filed a number of patents for floating foundations and in 2004 he set up Blue H Technologies with which he installed the first floating wind turbine in the world in 2008 in the Southern Adriatic Sea in 113 m deep water. In 2010 he set up Condor Wind Energy, which is building a 6.1 MW two-bladed wind turbine with yaw control (no blade pitch mechanism) on a self-installing floating foundation. Martin Jakubowski holds a number of patents for two-balded wind turbines with Silvestro Caruso his partner in Blue H and Condor. In 2015 Martin Jakubowski and Silvestro Caruso set up Seawind Ocean Technology in the Netherlands and filed for new patents for a hybrid mechanic-elastomeric teetering hinge for two-bladed wind turbines and for a self-installing 6.2 MW offshore wind energy system for shallow waters to bring the LCoE in offshore wind below $0.03. In 2016 he set up Clean-H B.V. with the goal to produce clean hydrogen from Renewables for automotive use on a large scale.
