Martin Dijst's research activities are focused on transportation studies,land use planning,Information and Communication Technologies, climate change and healthy cities. He has been carrying out projects issues like travel behaviour and multimodal transport systems, travel behaviour and urban form, long distance travel and development of urban systems, time-space variations in daily life and the performance of places, E-shopping and its interaction with in-store shopping, interaction between face-to-face contacts and telecommunication, the implications for technical networks and use of ICT in public transport, the impact of climate change on travel behavior and meaning of geographical environments for health.
