Education as Surgeon from 1989-1997 (German Board 1997 in Freiburg) with experience in traumatic-orthopaedic, visceral, vascular and thoracic Surgery. 2. Education as Neurosurgeon from 1997-2002 (German Board 2002 in Freiburg) in Villingen-Schwenningen and as Spinal Surgeon in Munich. Consultant for Neurosurgery (Oberarzt) in LKH-Klagenfurt - Austria 2003 and in St. Gallen - Switzerland 2004-2007. On-going Intention to improve and specialize in Spinal Surgery within a team of motivated Surgeons in Luzern (Kantonsspital Luzern LUKS) based on interdisciplinary work and thoughts. Building-up and establishing the Spine Unit as the Leading Trauma- and Reference-Center for Spinal Surgery in the heart of Switzerland with a full spectrum of state-of-the-art activities in Spinal Surgery, except Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis. Expertise in all minimal-invasive, mini-open and open techniques, Trauma, Degeneration and de-novo-Scoliosis, Infection, Tumor and demanding cases of Revision and Reconstruction. Big Network with Consultation-hours in Zug/Baar (10yrs. Birthday in 2021), Wolhusen, as well as Surgery in Sarnen and Altdorf (starting 2022).
Former virtual Spinal Unit within the Surgical Department (2007) established to an interdisciplinary autonomous Spinal Unit of the Clinics for Neurosurgery and for Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 2014.
