Based in Mombasa, Kenya, I work under Damen Shipyards on a Ministry of Defence project for Kenya Shipyards Limited. The project scope included land reclamation, piling works, construction of hangars and associated shipyard facilities, civil marine works such as underwater piling, and the building of a new slipway. I started in the role of Lead Site Engineer, progressed to Site Manager, and in the final stages served as the key link between the operating Kenya Shipyards Limited and Damen Shipyards, ensuring a seamless transition from construction to full operations of the shipyard
Project Shipyard Ucocar – Puerto Cabello, Venezuela The project involved the construction of a new shipyard facility, featuring a longitudinal slipway, a fully equipped main shed for vessel construction, a warehouse, parking, and transfer area. I was responsible for the daily supervision and execution of construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
Juba Shipyard for Government of Southern Sudan 2009-2011 Project involved new building shipyard facility in the North-East of Juba alongside a branch of the River Nile. Main activities: Coordination of engineering, procurement and shipments. During the execution of the project I gained field experience (working with local work-force) under the supervision of the site manager. Rehabilitation Sekondi slipway - Ghana 2011-2013 Project comprised repair and modification of existing slipway, reclamation of land on which a parkingplace for vessels has been constructed, erection of a sun-awning and renewal of the catwalk. Responsible for execution of several slipway modifications underwater (rail, cable and pull-back system replacement) including assembling slipway cradles. During test and trials and after commissioning leading role in slipping several types of vessels for Ghana Navy.
Main activities: Planning, budgeting and managing sub-projects. Responsible for the co-ordination with internal departments and external suppliers / erectors / sub-contractors / clients / project consultants to ensure on time completion of jobs ,within scope and budget.
