I am a second-year PhD student in the Biomedical Sciences program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I am in Dr. Ya-Wen Chen's lab focusing on epithelial-immune cell crosstalk within the distal lung to elucidate the roles they play during development and disease.
- Continuing my work with Dr. Ya-Wen Chen in studying lung disease using lung organoids. - Lab manager: manage laboratory supplies, place orders, assist others in experiments - Designated Laboratory Safety Officer (LSO): maintain laboratory safety by ensuring lab members are up-to-date in their training, perform quarterly laboratory safety check-ups
Our lab studies lung development and disease. I developed and optimized a lung injury model in vitro.
- Assist the supervisor with various projects involving human samples. - Perform various tests and experiments on the samples. - Organize and clean the laboratory; monitor and maintain laboratory equipment. - Document data; organize the data and ensure accuracy.
