My role was to be an evangelist for the startup community in Portugal. I supported the growing network of StartUP Portugal, ensuring that each partner takes maximum advantage of the initiatives we developed & l I catalysed new challenges and opportunities for collaboration that enabled each person in the community to maximize their impact.
I expanded Discover Walks to Lisbon, a tourism startup that initially only had operations in Paris and San Francisco. I was responsible for everything from building local branding, defining a local business format, obtaining partnerships with hotels & leveraging through connections with other tourism organizations. I trained a total of 40 guides during the time I was managing Discover Walks in Lisbon and did this whilst having other full-time jobs at the same time. I created two tours that ran 7 days a week + private tours around gastronomy.
My mission as Head of Community Manager at Beta-i was to expand, qualify and nurture our international network. I attracted, connected and supported tech entrepreneurs. I built bridges between the team, coworkers, visitors and partners meaning that I have the ability to connect with people, understand their business and identify their strategic needs so that I can make successful introductions. I was the face of Beta-i inside and outside of the Beta-i Hub and the person representing the organisation, hosting events for the community as well as getting out the message of our new products, and through this, bringing value to our network. I worked with companies like Salesforce, Google and Amazon on getting them connected to the local startup scene.
