Designed and built multiple subsystems of a surgical robotic platform, including end effectors, motor drive units, multi degree of freedom stereo cameras, and trocar. Implemented and managed Solidworks and PDM company wide. Hosted trainings for best modeling practices, drawings standards, and how to interface with the quality management system.
Updated and modified existing 3D models to produce a working, full scale prototype of a novel hinge mechanism for deploying antennas from satellite bodies. Created a scale model for a preliminary design review of two different deployment configurations for a the antenna on NISAR (launching 2020). Designed and 3D printed launch restraint mechanisms for the NISAR scale model.
Began developing assembly tools for a new series of automotive compressors. Tracked performance, durability, and efficiency in a series of compressors as a function end play, casting type, and piston to head clearance. Set up a 14 week test plan and began testing the batch of 20 production compressors from a new production line. Tested automotive compressors to identify performance losses and worked with lead engineers to develop testing schedules for new products.
