I lead a growing team of Pricing Actuaries responsible for the markets written out of our Zurich office. We support our P&C Reinsurance Underwriters with tools, methodologies and parameters. And we price individual large and complex accounts.
Responsible for building and upholding the quality of Casualty R&D’s software I lead a small internal team in Zurich, complemented by two teams of external software developers in Russia. We transfer our colleagues’, mostly modelers and data scientists, reference implementations into sustainable, productive code, manage DevOps and ingrain coding best practices in the whole department. We have successfully influenced the whole department to leverage test-driven-development, use pair programming and work in an agile setup.
At NSN I have developed data mining software to crawl roughly a million documents and extract similar information from them, developed simulations in Matlab and have assisted in the research lab for fiber optics, i.e. set up and configured the measurement devices, collected and curated the data.
